There are many casinos in the commonwealth, the majority on immobilized barges. The Catfish Bend Riverboat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 sq.ft., 535 slot machines, and 14 table games. An additional Iowa paddle wheel boat gambling den, The Isle of Capri, is open all hours, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 one armed bandits, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 square foot river based gambling hall in Clinton, has 506 slots, 14 table games, live entertainment, and Thursday vingt-et-un tournaments.

Iowa casinos offer a great deal of tax revenue to the state of Iowa, which has enabled the budgeting of a good many state wide activities. Visitors have increased at an accelerated rate accompanied with the requirement for companies and an increase in jobs. Iowa gambling halls have been instrumental to the expansion of the economy, and the affection for wagering in Iowa is widespread.
